In Chacras de
Coria there is a unique feeling; a strange
combination of nature and familiarity, of art
and culture and of the typical scenery... a true
land of contrast.
This picturesque villa
is only 15 km away from the capital city of Mendoza,
a meeting point for the wine routes and the most
original gastronomic offers.
Its name takes us back
to the first ranch settled in the area, whose
owner – Don Bohorquez de Coria
– established the first ranches. Since then,
the locals baptized this area as "las Chacras
de Coria" or "Coria´s ranches".
It is renowned for its
particular microclimate and seduces with its cool
air, the green colours, the mountains and vineyards.
Every Sunday afternoon
you can find crafts and antiques on the town square,
also musicians and puppeteers every week, attractive
for our visitors.
The town church, "Nuestra
Señora del Perpetuo Socorro" is built
in a neo-colonial style. The icons on the main
altar are carved in stone and the ceilings are
built with poplar wood in a traditional way for
Mendoza.
It is characteristic to
see the streets lined by trees and beautiful houses,
also the wineries and mountains. A typical postcard
of Mendoza that opens its doors to anyone who
wants to feel at home. |
